About

In 2023 I was given a second chance at life.

As I recovered at Wild Lands, I found myself paying closer attention to the birds, mammals, insects, and plants each navigating their own uncertain existence, adapting daily to weather, predation, habitat pressures, and an ever-changing world.

Modern medicine enables me to remain in this beautiful world; in return, I have decided to devote myself to helping sustain the wildlife here.

Wild Lands Norfolk sits on the edge of the STANTA, a vast and inaccessible landscape. An area where rare Breckland habitats persist with an unusual degree of ecological continuity. Few places in modern Britain retain such extensive areas of relatively undisturbed land.

Species move through these margins as part of a much larger living system, using our site for feeding, shelter, breeding, and dispersal.

Our land supports an intact and thriving food web, including a high number of species of conservation concern, and continues to reveal new discoveries with every season.

The records I keep help inform ongoing conservation projects and contribute to a better understanding of the ecological value of this landscape.

My aim is simple: Observe carefully, record faithfully, steward responsibly, and share what I learn.
